Sean was born and raised in Kitimat, and was riding his first bike was at 6 years old and has never looked back.
Known as "Digger Sean", he has built and continues to maintain many of the current trails in and around Kitimat(with help of course). He can be found in the sun, rain and snow working on the trails - the forest is his sanctuary.
I can’t think of a greater place to live than Northern BC. Great people, diverse culture and all the outdoor fun right in our back yard.
My family and I love to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, road cycling and of course mountain biking.
Northern BC offers a wealth of mountain biking networks for all & I look forward to contributing to its further growth in Kitimat.
Born and raised in Kitimat, Mathias has been biking since before grade school. He currently rides a Commencal hard tail and enjoys both technical and flow trails, preferably ones with gravity assist.
Mathias is a Civil Engineer by trade with a keen interest in city planning which he knows will help MECA develop a vast Kitimat trail network, one that complements its already vast urban pathway system.
Raised in Kitimat since age 3, Jamie has spent a great deal of time outdoors - with much of that being on two wheels of some kind. He has
ridden bikes for many years, and has been
known to have a bike or two (or seven) in his garage.
Jamie's is looking forward to seeing MECA develop and having riding opportunities more accessible to the community.
Director at Large
My name is Quinlan Harris, born and raised in Kitimat. Biking is a lifelong passion for me and I am working on instilling that same passion in my family. Currently riding an Evil Wreckoning, and enjoy long rides in the mountains before and after sunset. I believe that any time on a bike is a good time.
When Brittany moved to Kitimat 7 years ago, it was easy to make Kitimat her permanent home. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing – just about anything- with her husband and three kids. She looks forward to using her non-profit experience to support MECA and provide the community with biking trails for all levels, especially since she is an eager beginner herself!
I was born and raised in Kitimat and spent a lot of time on a bike growing up. Living in cablecar, we used our bikes to get everywhere and there were always plenty of ditches to ride through and homemade jumps were everywhere. Although, I didn't ride much as a young adult I have returned to biking as way to spend quality time with my wife and growing children. I am looking forward to helping develop the future of bike riding in Kitimat for the benefit of our community and those who visit it.
Typically behind the camera instead of in front of it, Cathryn has been involved in the biking world for several years shuttling, taking photos and occasionally riding her one of her spouse's extra bikes.
In 2019 she finally took the plunge and got herself a Giant Trance and has been having fun hitting the trails with the dogs and learning new skills ever since!
Steve has been in Kitimat most of his life and has been riding for close to 40 years including back and forth to work from March to October each year. While his riding preferences vary and he has progressed from hardtail to front suspension to full suspension mountain bikes. Nowadays he has a Norco Fluid VLT eBike and prefers to ride cross country and trails.
Now retired, Steve spent most of his years working in Procurement and Contractor Management and is looking forward to assisting the MECA team in developing better trail networks and riding opportunities in Kitimat for all types of riders, which would be of great benefit for our community
